Random Modge-Podge of Lately
Sunshine and Summer time! We are loving the weather here in St. George. Jaycee's fiance Brady, works at Swig (right off of the college campus) and it is a HOT SPOT in town! We love to go get drinks, and snow cones there! Little Miss Kayelee loved her snow cone!
Chris and Kim came to visit over the weekend, and it was fun to spend some Easter time with them!!! We went and saw the new movie "Mirror Mirror" and went out to dinner. They went to the art festival also while they were here, and bought this really awesome 4 piece photographed art.
Happy Easter to us! Ster and I both worked the Saturday before Easter... so we missed out on the fun family BBQ up at my parents house! They host it every year, and have an easter egg hunt and everything! Sterling surprised me though when he got off work, and brought me a cute Easter basket at Christensen's! He snuck in, set it on the counter and left in a flash! ;) Most handsome easter bunny I've ever seen! ha!
We had breakfast over at my parents house the Sunday morning of General Conference! It is a fun tradition that we have done since I was a little girl! They make a HUGE breakfast and have GREAT food selections! We watched the first session of conference over there, and then came back to our house for the afternoon. That evening, we had dinner over at our house, and had home made Cafe-rio salads! They were DELISH!!!
Oh, McKenzie broke her foot at soccer practice, and is in a "boot" right now. I don't have pictures of this... but she's taken it like a champ!
Every year Dixie State College puts on "The Great Race". It was done WAAAY back in the day, and it was a relay race done all over St. George. Well, the tradition died... until a few years ago when Conner Shakespear brought it back to Dixie. My family (like... my WHOLE EXTENDED FAMILY of Dixie Alumni) has loved this race, and has had many participants in it over the years! haha! This year I did it with my Dental Hygiene program, and did 20 push ups, and shot free-throws at the basketball shoot.
Jaycee did a team with the Ambassadors and her leg of the relay was the Swimming! She had to swim the length of the pool, up and back... wearing a tube. It was a FREAKIN' cold day, and super windy! As you can see, she was a champ, and swam awesome! (Brady was a swimmer in High school, so he lent her his goggles and swim cap!) She got light headed and kinda collapsed after she got out of the pool, and threw up...but ended up okay later on that night!
Oh, and later news... MY SISTER JAYCEE IS GETTING MARRIED! It's nuts to me that my LITTLE sister (who I still think is like 12 years old) is getting married in June! They got their engagement pictures taken, and here are a few of my favorites! My cousin Stefanie Stratton owns Sugarsnap photography, and took these INCREDIBLE pictures. Look her up at her website or on her blog! (You'll be glad you did!)
So... That's been us, as of lately! Sorry I haven't been great about updating so often... life is pretty hectic right now. Ster and I are in the middle of preparing for Finals these next 2 weeks, we're still working, still in Young Mens and Young Women's, and we are LOOOOVING being married! Sterling is going to take his Pharmacy entrance exam in July (PCAT) and then we'll be applying to schools! Life is crazy busy, but we are loving it! We're grateful for the love, support and prayers of our family and friends, and wished you all just lived closer! ;)
